Math Resources for Families

Hello families and guardians,

This is a page specifically to help your child or children in math. This even means you. The resources are to help in family discussions on math or to show what your child learned for the day in class.

Family Corner

This resource is used to help families help working in math with their children at home. The Figure This! resource is part of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. One pro is that the pages are available in Spanish and it has math challenges in all grade levels with entire sets. One con is that this site can make finding math sets difficult.

Talking Math With Your Kids

This resource is used to help families talk with their kids about math every day. This helps with building childrens math skills but makes it fun for the family and children to have fun while doing it. The site has different areas in math that you can look at and discuss as well as has a store that you can buy math items to use to play, build, and learn with your kids. The Talking Math With Your Kids resource is created by a math developer and teacher. This man has a Ph. D. in Mathematics Education from Michigan State University. One pro is that this has multiple areas of math to talk with, he has a blog, and contact information. One con is that the shop sells pattern activities that can range from $12-$100 on certain items and the man who built the site does not provide a name, images, or has an easy way to access him.
